Description:

  • We are seeking a Data Scientist, Risk specializing in risk analysis to join our fast-growing scaleup.
  • In this role, you will work closely with the data and risk teams to develop insights that drive business decisions.
  • Your primary focus will be on using data to help identify, quantify, and mitigate various types of risks.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, process, and analyze data related to risk.
  • You will use SQL to extract and manipulate data from various databases.
  • You will develop and implement risk models using Python to assess potential business risks.
  • You will support the team in identifying trends and patterns in large datasets to aid in risk mitigation strategies.
  • You will assist in preparing visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • You will work with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and databases are efficient and meet the needs of risk analyses.
  • You will participate in regular team meetings to review progress and refine data-driven risk management strategies.
  • You are expected to show initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced, startup environment, where priorities can shift quickly.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and querying is required.
  • Experience with Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn is necessary.
  • A basic understanding of statistical concepts and their application in risk analysis is essential.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) is required.
  • Some exposure to or interest in data engineering concepts (e.g., data pipelines, ETL processes) is preferred.
  • A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are necessary.
  • The ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision in a startup environment is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences are essential.
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field, economics, business, engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data science or risk analysis is preferred.
  • Experience working with risk-related data in industries such as finance, insurance, or healthcare is a bonus but not required.
