Description:
We are seeking a Data Scientist, Risk specializing in risk analysis to join our fast-growing scaleup.
In this role, you will work closely with the data and risk teams to develop insights that drive business decisions.
Your primary focus will be on using data to help identify, quantify, and mitigate various types of risks.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, process, and analyze data related to risk.
You will use SQL to extract and manipulate data from various databases.
You will develop and implement risk models using Python to assess potential business risks.
You will support the team in identifying trends and patterns in large datasets to aid in risk mitigation strategies.
You will assist in preparing visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
You will work with data engineers to ensure data pipelines and databases are efficient and meet the needs of risk analyses.
You will participate in regular team meetings to review progress and refine data-driven risk management strategies.
You are expected to show initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced, startup environment, where priorities can shift quickly.
Requirements:
Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and querying is required.
Experience with Python, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn is necessary.
A basic understanding of statistical concepts and their application in risk analysis is essential.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn) is required.
Some exposure to or interest in data engineering concepts (e.g., data pipelines, ETL processes) is preferred.
A strong analytical mindset and attention to detail are necessary.
The ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision in a startup environment is required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences are essential.
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a quantitative field, economics, business, engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in data science or risk analysis is preferred.
Experience working with risk-related data in industries such as finance, insurance, or healthcare is a bonus but not required.
