Description:
Servus Credit Union is seeking a full-time, permanent Database Administrator (DBA) in their Data and Infrastructure Department.
The DBA will provide enterprise-wide technical support for business-critical databases, ensuring data recoverability, integrity, security, availability, and performance.
Responsibilities include the development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the corporate data environment, including integration with external databases.
The DBA will lead problem resolution, manage projects, mentor junior staff, and promote best practices in database management.
Key accountabilities include managing day-to-day activities regarding database servers, performing backup and recovery functions, leading DBMS installations, and evolving the database maintenance strategy.
The DBA will collaborate with stakeholders and developers, monitor corporate databases, provide on-call support, and address database outages and performance issues.
The role also involves maintaining database support tools and participating in defining Servus' Azure SQL IaaS/PaaS support model.
Requirements:
Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server platform (2022, 2019, 2017, 2016).
Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization is required, including the use of Performance Monitor and SQL Profiler.
Experience with configuring highly available systems and disaster recovery options for SQL Server is necessary.
Strong experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is essential.
Candidates should have advanced experience in creating and managing databases in multi-remote-user environments.
Comfort with writing T-SQL scripts and working with source code repositories is required; experience with PowerShell is desirable.
Familiarity with Azure Cloud Database Management in both IaaS and PaaS solutions is preferred.
Knowledge of Schema Migration tools and basic Linux/Unix commands is beneficial.
Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of analysis and development processes, data security, and integrity methods.
Technical writing skills and the ability to manage complex relational databases are necessary.
Awareness of DevOps, Agile methodologies, and hardware virtualization is important.
Understanding of credit union financial systems and operations is preferred.
