Description:
The Database Administrator will provide support in database capacity planning, installation, configuration, design, migration, performance monitoring, security, and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.
The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing database performance.
The Database Administrator will identify and manage database bottlenecks.
Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and running scripts based on requirements.
The position requires responding to incidents and problems.
The administrator will administer patches according to Vulnerability Management Standards.
Performing database backups and recovery is a key duty.
The role includes database capacity planning and testing and analyzing database performance.
The Database Administrator will create database installations on servers and oversee database operations.
The position involves designing and implementing database software, maintenance, and support requirements.
The administrator will design and develop interoperability testing of many component products.
Creating and maintaining solution documentation is required.
The role ensures consistent use of integration of application middleware components and database architecture.
Requirements:
A post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science or a related field is mandatory.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience creating and administrating complex databases in an enterprise environment is required.
Significant work experience in the technology field as a Database Administrator is necessary.
Strong technical proficiency, troubleshooting skills, and operational knowledge of hosting technology in a corporate data center environment are essential.
Extensive experience and operational knowledge of hosting technology in a corporate data center environment is required.
Experience with RDBMS performance monitoring and tuning is necessary, including closely monitoring performance, identifying problems, and implementing solutions.
Experience applying tools, techniques, and processes related to change management, configuration management, capacity management, and availability management is required.
Experience working with Windows and/or Linux operating systems is necessary.
Experience with Microsoft MS SQL Server and Sybase ASE RDBMS is required.
The ability to provide data migration support and data migration effort for complex multi-location sites is essential.
Experience with T-SQL and MS RDBMS, including DB Triggers, Views, and Stored Procedure Programming and database optimization, is required.
Experience with MS SQL Server and SAP Sybase ASE is necessary.
