Description:
The Database Administrator will support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers focused on improving care quality and reducing costs for chronically ill Medicare beneficiaries.
Responsibilities include creating databases and table spaces, maintaining instances and schemas, and evaluating logical data models.
The role involves developing and documenting standard operating procedures for all DBA activities.
The Database Administrator will maintain all SAS automation, user creation, and Data Use Agreement (DUA) / user archive.
The position requires writing, testing, implementing, and documenting stored procedures and triggers.
The individual will design, implement, and maintain database security procedures.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with two (2) years of general experience, or six (6) years of experience without a bachelor’s degree is required.
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications is necessary.
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL is essential.
Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding is expected.
Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools is preferred.
Familiarity with programming languages API is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically are required.
Excellent communication skills are necessary for this position.
