Description:
As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Air Apps, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing large-scale, complex databases.
You will work with engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and resilient database systems that power our AI-driven platform.
Your role will involve database tuning, backup and recovery strategies, monitoring, and ensuring data integrity while working with structured and unstructured data sources.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance database systems to support large-scale applications, optimizing database queries, indexing strategies, and partitioning to enhance performance.
You will monitor database health, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
You will manage and fine-tune SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB.
Implementing database security policies, encryption, and access control to protect sensitive data will be part of your duties.
You will automate database backups, replication, and failover mechanisms.
Collaborating closely with developers to optimize queries, schema design, and data modeling is essential.
You will perform capacity planning and monitor database growth trends.
Ensuring compliance with data governance, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements is required.
Staying updated with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices is expected.
Requirements:
You should have around 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or in a similar role.
Expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and/or NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, and DynamoDB is required.
A strong knowledge of database optimization, indexing, partitioning, and replication is necessary.
Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting slow queries is essential.
Familiarity with database backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery strategies is required.
Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, and Azure SQL is necessary.
Knowledge of scripting for automation using Python, Bash, or SQL scripts is required.
An understanding of data security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements is essential.
Experience working with large, complex datasets and high-traffic applications is necessary.
You should have the ability to work with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD workflows.
