Remote Database Administrator, Entrata, Inc., Lehi, UT

Description:

• Provide highly scalable and performant databases that drive features and functions for the firm’s product platform.
• Work proactively with development, operations, and support teams to provide technical and operational support of database servers.
• Responsibilities include logical and physical database design, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance-tuning, monitoring, and optimization.
• Support and ensure uptime for mission-critical PostgreSQL data applications and services.
• Perform configuration, performance, security, automation, and observability tasks.
• Develop automation, high-availability, performance, and end-to-end optimizations of the firm’s databases.
• Monitor and ensure uptime of all production and test databases.
• Develop and implement procedures for automated monitoring, incident response, performance, and high availability of databases.
• Participate in architecting and designing zero-downtime database services.
• Use strong communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders across Engineering, Architecture, and Product teams.
• Work with Database Engineers to ensure query optimization and performance tuning.
• Develop data protection strategies, including regular backups and recovery processes.
• Leverage cloud technologies to improve performance, reliability, and quality while reducing costs for the firm’s database services.
• The position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.
• Salary range is $116,776 - $123,887 per year.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Must have at least 3 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator, Database Analyst, or in any related occupation involving database administration.
• Experience in setting up and managing PostgreSQL cloud-native environments (including AWS) for at least 3 years is required.
• Must have 3 years of professional experience working with modern cloud-native environments (including AWS) and containerization technologies.
• At least 3 years of professional experience performing PostgreSQL database server architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability strategies is necessary.
• Must have 3 years of professional experience managing geographically dispersed infrastructure and disaster recovery environments.
• Experience utilizing scripting/programming languages (including Bash or AWS CLI) for at least 3 years is required.
