Description:
The Database Administrator will manage, maintain, design, implement, and optimize database solutions that support business applications and services.
This role requires strong expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL administration, focusing on developing efficient and scalable database systems.
Responsibilities include installing and configuring database management systems (DBMS), setting up database environments for development, testing, and production, and collaborating with application developers to integrate database solutions with applications.
The role involves developing, testing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions, as well as analyzing and optimizing database performance and query execution times.
The Database Administrator will ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all database systems, implement data replication, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans, and adhere to data protection regulations and best practices.
Collaboration with other Developer/IT team members to support database-related needs and providing technical support and guidance to users and developers is essential.
The position requires documenting database designs, configurations, and processes, as well as preparing reports on database performance, usage, and security.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL is essential.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) and data migration services (DMS) is necessary.
A strong understanding of database design principles and data modeling is expected.
Experience with performance tuning and query optimization is required.
Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes is expected.
Experience in replication setup and server upgrades is necessary.
Familiarity with SSRS or similar report services is expected.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration/development, focusing on MS SQL Server and MySQL/PostgreSQL is required.
Experience in managing and maintaining complex large database systems is essential.
