Remote Database Engineer

Description:

• The Database Engineer will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining critical PostgreSQL database systems supporting a growing 24x7 SAAS platform.
• They will support database reporting and analytical needs, ensuring design and operations meet availability, scalability, and recoverability requirements.
• The role involves tuning and capacity management for optimal performance, guiding developers on database development, and ensuring infrastructure solutions adhere to security policies.
• The Database Engineer will provide on-call coverage for production support and other related duties.

Requirements:

• BS degree in Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Sciences, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in relational database administration and highly-available PostgreSQL databases.
• Proficiency in Linux-based PostgreSQL RDBMS administration, data science principles, query optimization, indexing, modeling, and scripting languages.
• Experience with .NET database clients using NpgSQL is a plus.
• Proficiency in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies, and ITIL/ITSM principles.
