Remote Database Engineer / Admin - Postgres / MySQL

Description:

• The Database Engineer will join the Database SWAT team at ServiceNow.
• The team ensures the production stability of customer applications and infrastructure services.
• Responsibilities include providing support at all service levels and acting as the last level of support for customers.
• The ideal candidate should have a background in database technologies, performance analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
• The role involves developing automation tools, becoming an SME in production triage, and learning about the ServiceNow platform.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of performance engineering/database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB.
• 4+ years of experience supporting or testing large-scale web-based distributed applications.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with SaaS, PaaS, or Cloud Infrastructure products/solutions.
• Unix skills, including development, navigation, file manipulation, permissions, and administrative actions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Eagerness to learn everything about the ServiceNow Platform.
• Desired skills include experience with Postgres and MySQL query tuning, ServiceNow platform, scripting, tuning, and troubleshooting, basic shell scripting, Python, Javascript, understanding of schemas, table spaces, indexing, and database performance optimization, and familiarity with CentOS/RedHat operating system.
• Formal experience on a DevOps or Performance or support team supporting a Web-Based application is desired.
