Description:
PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Engineer to join our dynamic team.
As a Database Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and supporting database-related applications and systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database concepts, programming skills, and analytical abilities.
The position is remote, with a Fort Knox centric location.
A TS clearance is required for this role.
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
Candidates must have three or more years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing database solutions to meet business requirements using appropriate database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
You will write and optimize SQL queries for performance, efficiency, and data accuracy.
Analyzing query execution plans and making recommendations for improvements is part of the role.
Routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, index maintenance, and data cleanup, will be performed.
You will design and implement logical and physical data models to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
Developing and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources into the database is required.
Providing technical support for database-related applications and systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to resolve problems is essential.
Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to improve performance and scalability are key responsibilities.
Requirements:
Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, data dictionaries, and process workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and system administrators, to understand requirements, implement solutions, and support business objectives.
Proficiency in SQL programming and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, are necessary.
Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, Toad Data Modeler) is a plus.
Familiarity with ETL tools and techniques (e.g., SSIS, Informatica) is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CEH, Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Developer, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
Security+ certification is also required.
