Description:

  • PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Engineer to join our dynamic team.
  • As a Database Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and supporting database-related applications and systems.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database concepts, programming skills, and analytical abilities.
  • The position is remote, with a Fort Knox centric location.
  • A TS clearance is required for this role.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Candidates must have three or more years of relevant experience.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing database solutions to meet business requirements using appropriate database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • You will write and optimize SQL queries for performance, efficiency, and data accuracy.
  • Analyzing query execution plans and making recommendations for improvements is part of the role.
  • Routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, index maintenance, and data cleanup, will be performed.
  • You will design and implement logical and physical data models to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
  • Developing and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources into the database is required.
  • Providing technical support for database-related applications and systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to resolve problems is essential.
  • Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to improve performance and scalability are key responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, data dictionaries, and process workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and system administrators, to understand requirements, implement solutions, and support business objectives.
  • Proficiency in SQL programming and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, are necessary.
  • Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, Toad Data Modeler) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and techniques (e.g., SSIS, Informatica) is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CEH, Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Developer, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • Security+ certification is also required.
