Description:
TherapyNotes is seeking an experienced database professional to join their growing team.
The right candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL databases, both on-premise and in the cloud.
The role involves working in a highly collaborative, DevOps culture across the technology organization.
Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining critical database systems (PostgreSQL) that support a growing 24x7 SaaS platform.
The candidate will support ongoing database reporting and analytical needs of the organization.
They will ensure that database design and operations support the availability, scalability, and recoverability needs of the business.
The role requires performing tuning and capacity management to meet the performance needs of the business.
The candidate will guide and provide direction to developers and engineers on database development, design principles, query optimization, and index management in a fully automated deployment pipeline.
They will ensure all infrastructure solutions and operational activities adhere to the security and operating policies established by the organization.
The position includes providing on-call coverage for production support and other duties as required.
Requirements:
A BS degree in Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Sciences, or equivalent is required.
The candidate must have 3+ years of experience with relational database administration.
They should have 3+ years of experience administering highly-available PostgreSQL databases.
Proficiency in Linux-based PostgreSQL RDBMS database administration, architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies is necessary.
The candidate must be proficient in data science principles such as warehousing, business intelligence reporting, and predictive analytics.
Proficiency in query optimization, indexing knowledge, modeling basics, materialized views, triggers, stored procedure development, and partitioning is required.
The candidate must be proficient in SQL and have experience in any scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience with .NET database clients using NpgSQL is a plus.
Proficiency with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies, and variable workload (container) orchestration is necessary.
Proficiency with ITIL and/or ITSM principles is required.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $115,000.
