Description:
As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of database systems critical to the organization's data management needs.
Your role will involve working with various database technologies such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery to ensure data availability, integrity, and performance for data analytics and reporting.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing database systems that meet the organization's requirements, including data modeling, schema design, and database structure optimization.
You will administer, maintain, and monitor database systems to ensure high availability, performance, and data security.
Writing and optimizing SQL queries for various database platforms (Clickhouse, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) to enhance data retrieval efficiency and performance is essential.
You will plan and execute data migration projects when transitioning between database systems or upgrading versions.
Identifying and resolving database performance issues through tuning, indexing, and monitoring is a critical part of the role.
Implementing and managing data backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery capabilities is required.
You will set up and utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues and maintain database health.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, developers, and system administrators, to support their database-related needs is expected.
Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes is necessary.
Utilizing Google BigQuery for data analytics, including data warehousing, querying large datasets, and generating insights from data is part of the job.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in Clickhouse, MySQL, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning is required.
Experience with Google BigQuery for data analytics, data warehousing, and complex queries is necessary.
Knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and schema management is essential.
Familiarity with data migration tools and techniques is required.
Proficiency in database security, including user access control and encryption is necessary.
Understanding of backup and recovery procedures is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this position.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are necessary.
Knowledge of other database technologies and NoSQL databases is a plus.
Relevant certifications in database administration or data analytics are a bonus.
