Remote Database Engineer

Description:

• As a Database Engineer at Ascend Analytics, you will be part of a collaborative team advancing software solutions and analytics to support the clean-tech power revolution.
• You will design and write clean, scalable, production code with a focus on OLAP and RDBMS systems.
• Your responsibilities include refactoring code for improved performance, stability, and scalability.
• You will implement systems for collecting, storing, and working with data at scale.
• The role involves working with a team of developers, analysts, and data scientists.
• You will communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You will contribute to scoping and design discussions.
• This position requires collaboration within your software team and with front-end software engineers, data scientists, and the technical sales team.
• The software development team follows an agile scrum process, and all team members are expected to contribute to technical design reviews, implementation strategies, operational system support, and sprint planning.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree (B. A./ B. S.) from a four-year College or University in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another technical field is required.
• A strong understanding of Data Warehouse/Solution Design and Dimensional Modeling is necessary.
• You must have a strong understanding of Data Warehousing and OLAP, including defining, developing, and delivering data and analysis.
• Experience with Relational Databases and Multidimensional Databases is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Oracle/PostGreSQL RDBMS is essential.
• You should have proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Visual Studio Data Tools.
• A strong command of Complex SQL Language and MDX Language is required.
