Description:
Timescale is hiring a Database Support Engineer for their international team, focusing on providing deep technical support and customer interaction.
The role requires candidates to have experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and a strong willingness to learn about TimescaleDB.
This is a full-time, remote position based in Costa Rica, ensuring time zone coverage for the team.
The work schedule consists of 5-day, 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, covering Mountain and Pacific North American time zones.
Responsibilities include managing support cases, developing customer relationships, and continuously seeking improvements in products and processes.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have relational database experience at scale, including administration, data modeling, and query optimization.
Experience with PostgreSQL is a strong plus, along with prior technical support experience with external customers.
A strong aptitude for understanding and learning new software products is necessary.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, demonstrating patience and empathy when troubleshooting complex technical concepts.
