Remote Datacenter Network Engineer

Description:

• A2 Hosting is hiring for an experienced Network Engineer to join their team.
• The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining A2 Hosting's global network infrastructure to ensure peak performance and reliability for clients.
• The role involves managing the network configuration lifecycle for approximately 200 routers, switches, and firewalls across 4 locations.
• This is a full-time, fully remote position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 9a-5p US Eastern Time.
• The position is open to US-based and international applicants, but US-based candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for company sponsorship.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience in network administration and troubleshooting in a web hosting or datacenter environment.
• Proven experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of datacenter networks, including local and wide area configurations, is required.
• A strong understanding of available networking equipment and the ability to evaluate and select appropriate hardware is necessary.
• Experience in establishing and managing secure multi-site network connections is required.
• Candidates should have experience in the design and development of networks using the OSI model, including crafting comprehensive Layer 1, 2, and 3 architectures.
• Strong proficiency in routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF, is essential.
• Experience in configuring and managing site-to-site VPN tunnels is required.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary for effective communication with team members and leadership.
• Expertise in administering and implementing Juniper routers and firewalls, as well as Cisco switches, is required.
• Familiarity with network automation tools such as Ansible and Salt is necessary.
• A working knowledge of Linux operating systems and common networking command-line tools is required.
• Experience in a remote work environment with globally distributed teams is strongly preferred.
• Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are a strong plus.
