Remote DBA/Database Developer (Oracle/ Postgres RDS Experience)- Secret Cleared

Description:

• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled DBA/Database Developer to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing and developing databases in Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, particularly Amazon RDS.
• Experience in database migration and conversion between Oracle and PostgreSQL is a strong plus.
• This role involves database design, optimization, troubleshooting, and supporting complex database applications while ensuring data integrity and performance.
• This position is fully remote and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.
• Responsibilities include managing, maintaining, and monitoring Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance of database systems, and implementing database upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed.
• The role also involves designing and developing database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures for business requirements, optimizing SQL queries, and collaborating with application developers for seamless integration.
• Additionally, the candidate will plan and execute database migration strategies between Oracle and PostgreSQL, convert database objects, and address challenges related to data type mapping and performance tuning post-migration.
• The position requires developing and maintaining automation scripts for database backups, monitoring, and maintenance, as well as utilizing AWS monitoring tools to ensure database health and performance.
• Troubleshooting and support responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving database performance and connectivity issues and providing on-call support for critical database issues.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have deep expertise in managing and developing databases in Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
• Experience with Amazon RDS is required.
• Strong experience in database migration and conversion between Oracle and PostgreSQL is a strong plus.
• An active Secret clearance or higher is required for this position.
• Candidates should have experience in database design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database performance tuning is necessary.
• Familiarity with AWS monitoring tools and automation scripting for database maintenance is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide on-call support for critical database issues are essential.
