Remote DBA/Database Developer (Oracle/ PostgreSQL)- Secret Cleared

Description:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced DBA/Database Developer with expertise in Oracle to PostgreSQL migration and a strong background in AWS cloud services.
• The ideal candidate will play a key role in migrating, optimizing, and managing databases while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• This position requires a deep understanding of database architecture, migration tools, and cloud-based database solutions.
• This position is fully remote and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and execute Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Analyze existing Oracle schemas, stored procedures, and triggers to create optimized PostgreSQL equivalents.
• Leverage tools like AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), ora2pg, or other migration utilities.
• Develop and optimize database schemas, indexes, and queries for PostgreSQL.
• Write and maintain complex SQL scripts, functions, and stored procedures.
• Collaborate with development teams to design scalable database solutions for applications.
• Deploy and manage databases in AWS cloud environments, using services like RDS, Aurora, and EC2.
• Optimize database configurations for performance, cost, and reliability in the cloud.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions in AWS.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies.
• Conduct capacity planning and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Ensure databases meet security and compliance standards, including encryption and access control.
• Conduct audits and apply patches or updates as needed.
• Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Create and maintain documentation for database designs, processes, and migrations.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have expertise in Oracle to PostgreSQL migration.
• A strong background in AWS cloud services is required.
• The candidate should possess a deep understanding of database architecture and migration tools.
• An active Secret clearance or higher is mandatory for this position.

Benefits:

• The salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $145,000 a year.
• This position offers the flexibility of being fully remote.
