Description:
Immersive Labs is seeking a motivated and curious Front-end developer to join their Product Design team as a Design System Engineer.
This role involves the systematic end-to-end implementation of design in the platform UI, focusing on operation, contribution, extension, and performant delivery for the end user.
The position requires a driven, curious, and collaborative individual who can have a large impact beyond just their time.
Responsibilities include centralizing, extending, and polishing the front-end tech, caring for the design system full time, eliminating debt, and modernizing it to meet standards.
The engineer will participate in crafting a strong product that delivers high-quality experiences to users and will streamline development workflows.
The role includes owning the implementation of new components and patterns from concept to production, advocating for internal standards, and ensuring accessibility in UIs.
Mentorship for engineers and gathering feedback to remove blockers are also key responsibilities.
The current tech stack includes Typescript, React, CSS tooling, Ruby on Rails, Node, Python, AWS, Github, and Slack.
Requirements:
Candidates should have several years of experience working on a product or SaaS platform.
Experience in JavaScript frameworks, preferably React, is required.
Applicants must have demonstrable knowledge of best practices and patterns in large, scalable frontend codebases and familiarity with CI setups.
Understanding of Git, semantic, accessible HTML, CSS, and CSS in JS solutions is necessary.
Candidates should have the ability to critically review technical solutions and identify potential issues related to performance, design systems, security, and scalability.
Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
