Description:
The position involves automating deployments utilizing custom templates and modules for customer environments on AWS.
Responsibilities include architecting AWS environment best practices and deployment methodologies.
The role requires creating automation tools and processes to improve day-to-day functions.
Educating customers on AWS and Rackspace best practices and architecture is a key responsibility.
The engineer will ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment for the enterprise.
Leading workload/workforce management and optimization related tasks is expected.
The engineer will assist Rackers across the Cloud Function.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is required.
Candidates must have 5-8 years of total IT experience, with 5-8 years specifically on AWS Cloud and DevOps tools.
Associate level certificates in AWS or a professional level certificate are required.
Near expert knowledge of AWS Products & Services, including Compute, Storage, Security, and Networking is necessary.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Linux, or Shell scripting is required.
Candidates must have proficient skills with git and git workflows.
Excellent working knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems is essential, including experience in supporting and troubleshooting issues and performance.
Highly skilled in Terraform/IaC, including CI/CD practices is required.
Working knowledge in Kubernetes is necessary.
Experience in designing, building, implementing, analyzing, migrating, and troubleshooting highly available systems is required.
Knowledge of at least one configuration management system such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet is necessary.
Understanding of services and protocols, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of hosting environments is required.
Candidates should have knowledge in the application of current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocols.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical, are essential.
The ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.
Candidates must be detail-oriented in documenting information and able to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
