Description:

  • Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation focused on making government services simple and effective.
  • The position is for a DevOps Engineer, which is remote and contingent upon contract award.
  • The role involves working with a cross-functional team to improve and manage systems deployed on AWS.
  • Responsibilities include setting technical direction and standards, coding, managing services, implementing security controls, mentoring junior engineers, participating in on-call rotations, and engaging in hiring activities.
  • The engineer will work with tools such as Docker, Packer, Terraform, and Jenkins, and will be involved in performance testing and maintaining high transaction speeds.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field is required.
  • Candidates must have experience leading a small team of 3-5 engineers.
  • Previous experience maintaining medium or large-scale production systems or COTS products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on AWS is necessary.
  • Broad experience with AWS services is essential.
  • Significant experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and LaunchDarkly is required.
  • Candidates should have substantial experience with Terraform, Atlantis, and other IaC and automation tools.
  • Experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Unix/Linux, Scripting, and Security is important.
  • The ability to automate tasks using Shell, PowerShell, Bash, or coding in Python, Javascript, or Ruby is needed.
  • Excellent written and real-time communication skills are required, along with the ability to learn new development and operations skills.
