Description:
Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation focused on making government services simple and effective.
The position is for a DevOps Engineer, which is remote and contingent upon contract award.
The role involves working with a cross-functional team to improve and manage systems deployed on AWS.
Responsibilities include setting technical direction and standards, coding, managing services, implementing security controls, mentoring junior engineers, participating in on-call rotations, and engaging in hiring activities.
The engineer will work with tools such as Docker, Packer, Terraform, and Jenkins, and will be involved in performance testing and maintaining high transaction speeds.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field is required.
Candidates must have experience leading a small team of 3-5 engineers.
Previous experience maintaining medium or large-scale production systems or COTS products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on AWS is necessary.
Broad experience with AWS services is essential.
Significant experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and LaunchDarkly is required.
Candidates should have substantial experience with Terraform, Atlantis, and other IaC and automation tools.
Experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Unix/Linux, Scripting, and Security is important.
The ability to automate tasks using Shell, PowerShell, Bash, or coding in Python, Javascript, or Ruby is needed.
Excellent written and real-time communication skills are required, along with the ability to learn new development and operations skills.
