Remote DevOps Engineer

Description:

• Backstage is looking for a DevOps Engineer to monitor, maintain, and enhance the infrastructure, processes, and tooling of the company.
• The role involves collaborating with the software engineering team to ensure site reliability and performance.
• Responsibilities include working with the security team to implement best practices, managing AWS infrastructure for high availability and scalability, optimizing Linux systems, and administering MySQL databases and Elasticsearch clusters.
• The DevOps Engineer will utilize Cloudflare Enterprise tools, NewRelic for monitoring, and streamline deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines.
• Identifying and resolving infrastructure issues, implementing proactive measures, and evaluating new tools and technologies for process improvement are key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and at least 8+ years in software development.
• Expertise in AWS administration and best practices, strong proficiency in Linux systems administration, and experience with Cloudflare Enterprise tools.
• Solid knowledge of MySQL and Elasticsearch administration, proficiency in using NewRelic or similar tools for monitoring and performance optimization, and familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, collaboration skills, and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Benefits:

• Compensation range for the position is $150,000—$180,000 USD.
