Description:

Avero is seeking a DevOps Engineer for their Product Operations team, responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to deploy and operate systems.
The primary focus will be on automating and streamlining operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, and troubleshooting issues in development, staging, and production environments.
This is a 100% remote role reporting to Avero’s Director of Engineering and working closely with the Director of IT.
The Product Operations team maintains both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for Avero’s products.
The team follows the Everything-as-Code philosophy to create a stable, robust, and dynamic infrastructure that adapts quickly to emerging technology trends.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in DevOps and/or Systems Administration.
A strong understanding of core concepts of DevOps, microservices, systems administration, and monitoring/alerting is required.
Required experience includes proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, and Shell Scripting, as well as infrastructure tools like Terraform and Chef.
Experience with container infrastructure (Docker and Docker Compose, ECS), databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server), and the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) is necessary.
Familiarity with source control systems (Git and Bitbucket) and Linux administration (Ubuntu, Fedora, and/or Amazon Linux) is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with experience working within remote or geographically distributed teams.
