The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for managing and designing the virtualization environment, specifically a KVM/oVirt layer on bare metal servers from public cloud providers.
Key tasks include automating VM deployment, managing image for client VMs, configuring SASE/VPN/networking, and managing KVM policies.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud virtualization technology and design features that will shape the future of PC virtualization and Desktop-as-a-Service.
The initial phase of the role focuses on managing VDI/virtualization using a type 1 hypervisor, utilizing server management software like oVirt through a web GUI, and configuring VMs and networks.

Requirements:

Candidates must have familiarity with cloud computing.
Practical experience with hypervisors, with a preference for KVM.
Experience with server management tools such as oVirt and vCenter is required.
Knowledge of cloud management tools like OVirt and OpenStack is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in building self-managing cloud solutions.
A strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, subnets, firewalls, and NIC virtualization, is essential.
Understanding of OS fundamentals, particularly the memory hierarchy (cache/RAM/disk), is required.
It is a plus to have comfort with cloud orchestration and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Knowledge of computer hardware and its impact on performance (CPU, GPU, and memory) is beneficial.
An understanding of containers, specifically Kubernetes and Docker, is also a nice to have.
