Remote DevOps Engineer

Description:

• Backstage is seeking a DevOps Engineer to monitor, maintain, and improve its infrastructure, processes, and tooling.
• The role involves collaborating with a team of thirty high-performance engineers, designers, product managers, and quality assurance resources.

• The DevOps Engineer will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems operating on a Python/Django back end with a React/Typescript front end.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with the software engineering team, working with the security team, monitoring and maintaining AWS infrastructure, managing Linux systems, administering MySQL databases and Elasticsearch clusters, utilizing Cloudflare Enterprise tools, implementing monitoring solutions using NewRelic, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and resolving infrastructure issues.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer and at least 8+ years in software development is required.
• Expertise in AWS administration and best practices is essential.
• Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration is necessary.
• Experience managing Cloudflare Enterprise tools is required.
• Solid knowledge and experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch administration is needed.
• Proficiency in using NewRelic or similar tools for monitoring and performance optimization is expected.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices is important.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues are required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement is essential.
