Description:
Federato is seeking a DevOps Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity.
The company is focused on providing efficient and equitable insurance solutions using AI/ML-driven technology.
The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide infrastructure support for new features and services.
Responsibilities include enhancing and automating infrastructure management using tools like Terraform, Argo, and GitHub Actions.
The engineer will manage and optimize the GCP and Kubernetes (GKE) environment to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
The position requires improving the observability stack with tools such as Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager for real-time monitoring and proactive alerting.
Setting up and maintaining performance monitoring tools, including k6, is also part of the job.
The engineer will identify areas for infrastructure improvement and lead the implementation of these changes.
Supporting incident management and resolution, performing root cause analysis, and creating processes to prevent recurrence are key responsibilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure and automation.
Experience with Node.js or Python for backend services in a microservices architecture is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud providers, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is necessary.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Knowledge of asynchronous processing, message queues (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub), and event-driven architecture for backend applications is essential.
A focus on the internal engineer team’s success is important for this role.

The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $170,000 per year.
