Description:

  • We are seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer with a strong track record in building and scaling services within a cloud environment.
  • The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining operational best practices for tools and automation development, including version control, branching, merging patterns, and adherence to DevOps principles, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Terraform.
  • The engineer will lead the development and advocacy of CI/CD best practices, standards, and processes using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, and others.
  • Ongoing support to development teams will be provided by maintaining and upgrading the existing configuration management environment.
  • The position requires building and deploying tools to enhance the deployment framework for our Enterprise platform, ensuring solutions align with departmental goals and SLAs for availability, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Strategies for zero downtime deployments and patching will be developed and implemented to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  • The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to identify bottlenecks and optimize deployment and build processes.
  • Active contributions to problem management by automating repetitive tasks and troubleshooting issues to prevent reoccurrence are expected.
  • Ensuring all solutions are compliant with security and regulatory standards, including AD, IAM, and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools is essential.
  • Continuous testing practices within the DevOps lifecycle will be promoted and implemented.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS or GCP.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience with Git and other revision control systems is required.
  • Proven experience working within Agile teams and project environments is necessary.
  • Advanced scripting skills in at least one of the following languages: Perl, Python, Java, or Node.js are required.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, or similar CI/CD tools is essential.
  • Proficiency in cloud automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools is required.
  • Extensive experience delivering and managing solutions on AWS is necessary, with additional experience in Azure and/or GCP being a plus.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and serve as an escalation point for resolving blocking issues, dependencies, and risks is required.
  • AWS/GCP Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Architect certification is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
