Description:

  • The DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate systems.
  • They will help automate and streamline operations and processes.
  • The role involves building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments is a key responsibility.
  • The DevOps Engineer will identify and optimize interdependencies between application development and infrastructure operations.
  • They will support continuous delivery pipelines for deploying fixes and features to development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • The engineer will build, publish, and automate the deployment of releases to application environments.
  • Researching and recommending new technologies and toolsets for the DevOps toolchain is expected.
  • Monitoring and tuning the performance of the infrastructure is essential, including identifying and correcting bottlenecks in the system.
  • The role includes supporting the integration of log management and APM solutions for continuous monitoring capabilities.
  • Providing product support for escalated tickets from customer support and engineering teams is also part of the job.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required.
  • The candidate must have 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services, including ECS, Fargate, EC2, Code Deploy, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, and IAM.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Docker containers is necessary.
  • The candidate should have 2+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell.
  • Experience in setting up and configuring application CI/CD tools like git, Jenkins, Octopus, Ansible, AWS Code Deploy, and Artifactory is required.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as ELK or Datadog is essential.
  • The candidate must have experience with Windows and Linux related to administration, security, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Azure or GCP is considered an asset.
  • A background in a technical engineering role, such as software development, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, or technical operations is necessary.
  • Experience in technology infrastructure, including network, monitoring, systems, and databases, is required.
  • The incumbent will work regular business hours but may need to work evenings and weekends to complete projects, monitor system/network alerts, or perform maintenance on systems.
