Description:
MakroPRO is a new digital venture by Makro aimed at building a technology platform for restaurant owners, hotels, and independent retailers.
The DevOps Engineer will help increase the speed of delivery, improve the quality and security of code, and optimize processes for the development team.
Responsibilities include identifying bottlenecks in development and delivery processes, working with team members to improve them, and enhancing the overall experience of developers.
The role involves infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling and supporting services on multiple cloud providers, along with metrics and logging.
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with Tech Leads and developers to develop automation pipelines and CI/CD.
They will develop self-serve tools and artifacts to support the software development life cycle (SDLC).
The position requires configuring infrastructure using IaaS/PaaS products and custom-developed tools.
The engineer will participate in deploying application artifacts to target environments and in planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects.
Maintenance tasks such as infrastructure health checks and monitoring will also be part of the role.
The engineer will maintain and grow knowledge of platform configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Collaboration with the DevOps team to deliver consistent and holistic solutions is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have excellent scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl.
Experience in building and maintaining large-scale, cloud-based container platforms in IaaS and PaaS environments is required.
A working knowledge of deployment automation solutions like Terraform, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible is necessary.
Experience with the AWS platform is essential, and certification is a plus.
Candidates should have experience with containers and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as GitlabCI, Jenkins, Hudson, Maven, Ant, Git, and Sonar is required.
Knowledge of security automation tools, including static application security testing, is preferred.
A strong understanding of Agile methodologies is necessary.
Experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer on a cross-functional agile team is preferred.
