Remote DevOps Engineer I

Description:

• Cyderes is seeking a dedicated and creative Cloud DevOps Engineer I to join the Managed Services - Engineering team.
• The position is open to candidates with 0-3 years of experience.
• The ideal candidate should have a passion for automation, optimization, and exploring new ideas to enhance services and products.
• Responsibilities include running, maintaining, and improving the Cyderes managed cloud environments.
• The candidate will identify opportunities for improvement of the Cyderes platform and troubleshoot any system or automation issues.
• The role involves maintaining and supporting a production Kubernetes environment and collaborating with internal teams to enhance CI/CD processes.
• The candidate will operate within multiple cloud service provider environments and document engineering procedures.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for infrastructure issues and after-hour maintenance cycles is required.
• The candidate will also research and address security concerns across all cloud platforms.

Requirements:

• Candidates must possess investigative analysis skills related to CI/CD pipelines, technology PoCs, and QoL automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is required.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker is necessary.
• Knowledge of virtualization hypervisors like VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, and XenServer is expected.
• Candidates should have knowledge of source control and CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitHub, Spinnaker, and Concourse CI.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
• Knowledge of desired state configuration tools like Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is desired.
• Additional experience with Kubernetes operation and administration is preferred.
• Candidates should have experience supporting or creating a production environment and working collaboratively with other developers or engineers.
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language such as Python, Golang, or bash is necessary.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in development, software engineering, or DevOps fields is required.
