Description:
The position is for a DevOps Engineer II with a focus on AWS and public cloud provider experience, based in the US.
The role involves being a technical expert in cloud solutions and frameworks across multiple platform and product teams.
The engineer will be a key part of the Cloud Engineering team, responsible for the overall Developer Experience related to the entire development life cycle.
Responsibilities include accelerating the adoption of best engineering practices and maintaining knowledge of industry innovations, trends, and practices.
The engineer will build Paved Paths or Spotify-style Golden Paths for app development, machine learning solutions, APIs, and data platforms, delivering paths as reusable code or tutorials through developer portals.
The role requires creating reference architectures and infrastructure code for configuring and orchestrating aspects such as environment creation, housekeeping, and managing containers.
The engineer will build and deliver proof of concepts (POC) and reusable accelerators like frameworks, libraries, templates, and SDKs to expedite vertical application development.
Collaboration with DevOps Engineers, DevSecOps Engineers, Full-Stack Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Managers is essential to scale the G-P platform and deliver functional customer-facing products.
The engineer will promote DevOps practices across the organization and design, implement, and maintain automation for provisioning Cloud Infrastructure to support production and development.
The role includes implementing, configuring, and operating tools and products in the DevOps and DevSecOps Toolchain.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a proven technical background with 5-10 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, and developer experience roles.
Strong experience with AWS as a public cloud provider is required.
Candidates should have extensive experience in building and operating complex CI/CD pipelines at scale.
Proficiency in developing Infrastructure as Code constructs for fully automated infrastructure creation and orchestration using tools like Terraform is necessary.
Strong programming skills in software solutions, particularly with Python, Java, and/or JavaScript, are required.
Prior roles related to developer experience and a demonstrated impact on overall engineering productivity are essential.
Hands-on experience in creating and maintaining developer experience tooling for CI and CD, operations and security, networks, and tenancy management is needed.
Experience with different Continuous Deployment strategies, such as canary and blue-green deployments, as well as AB experimentation, is preferred.
Experience in developing large-scale, enterprise-class distributed systems or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, and strong data consistency computing is advantageous.
Benefits:
The annual gross base salary range for this position is between $124,000 and $155,000, plus variable compensation.
