Description:
PDI Technologies is seeking a DevOps Engineer III to empower convenience retail and petroleum brands with technology solutions.
The role involves designing and maintaining a CI/CD platform for engineering teams, supporting environments from development to production.
Responsibilities include automating deployments, managing infrastructure as code, and improving the software development lifecycle.
The engineer will ensure secure practices, train stakeholders on best practices, and work across various technologies, including Windows, Linux, scripting, and AWS.
Key responsibilities include supporting pre-production services, scaling and evolving systems, championing Infrastructure-as-Code practices, driving the selection and implementation of automation tools, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing observability and monitoring, administering DevOps tools, and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5-9 years of experience in DevOps or related software engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proven expertise in AWS cloud services is required; experience with Azure or GCP is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform is necessary, along with strong experience in configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef.
Expertise in CI/CD best practices using tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, TeamCity, or GitLab is required.
Experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) and developing branching strategies for large-scale projects is essential.
Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and cloud orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Helm) is required.
A functional understanding of logging and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, Dynatrace, etc.) is necessary.
Familiarity with build automation on Windows and Linux, build tools (MSBuild, Make), package managers (NuGet, NPM, Maven), and artifact repositories (Artifactory, Nexus) is required.
Experience in Windows and Linux systems, CLI, and scripting is essential.
Programming experience in Python, Groovy, Go, C#, Ruby, or PowerShell is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing system issues and designing solutions are necessary.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience mentoring and working across development, operations, and security teams, are required.
