Description:
The DevOps Engineer at Moodle US will be responsible for delivering high-performance, secure cloud solutions for clients' Moodle platforms.
They will optimize the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of cloud environments, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain client sites, and implement custom infrastructure solutions.
The role involves supporting multiple highly available clusters on AWS-based infrastructure, following best DevOps practices, administering automation applications, and participating in on-call rotations.
The engineer will collaborate across teams, track work in a ticketing system, consult developers on infrastructure configuration, and ensure business continuity.
They will assist in the development and maintenance of tools, manage tasks within DevOps projects, and work on a roadmap for product development.
Regular mentorship will be provided to help the engineer develop skills necessary for growth in the role.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of major operating systems like Linux, networking, load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, and Mail administration.
Proficiency in security concepts, programming/scripting (Python, PHP, Go, Javascript, Bash), troubleshooting network/system/application issues, and containerization technologies.
Experience with AWS infrastructure, large production environments, DevOps processes, code repositories, configuration management tools, and infrastructure as code.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to create detailed documentation, quick learning of new technologies, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Basic to mid-level knowledge of database administration, automation, incident management, and root cause analysis.
US citizenship and willingness/ability to obtain security clearance.
