Description:

Octopus by RTG is seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join their team remotely.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations.
Responsibilities include ensuring smooth deployment and integration of code, maintaining scalable infrastructure, and supporting continuous delivery practices.
The DevOps Engineer will work closely with software engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to improve reliability, performance, and automation across systems.
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
The role involves collaborating with development and operations teams to build scalable and resilient infrastructure.
The engineer will monitor system performance, availability, and security using various tools and technologies.
Management of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise environments is required.
The position includes automating repetitive tasks and processes using scripts and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
The engineer will implement and support containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Ensuring systems are secure and up-to-date with the latest patches and best practices is essential.
Troubleshooting issues across the stack, including hardware, software, application, and network, is part of the role.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software engineering role is necessary.
Experience with version control tools such as Git is essential.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI) is required.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) is necessary.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is required.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is essential.
Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) is required.
Good problem-solving and communication skills are necessary for this position.
