Description:
ViaBill is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help scale their cloud-native microservices platform, primarily Java-based, on AWS.
The role involves maintaining and improving a fully Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) environment.
Responsibilities include optimizing cost, reliability, and performance of the AWS footprint.
The engineer will work closely with developers and data teams to deliver self-service tools, dynamic environments, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
The position requires helping to pass compliance audits like ISO 27001 and PCI DSS through repeatable infrastructure patterns.
The engineer will own key DevOps initiatives such as cost optimization, observability upgrades, and platform refactoring.
Participation in an on-call rotation is expected, as the team owns what they build.
The team is international, experienced, and values hard work, with a flat hierarchy and a rapid release schedule.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong Linux background and solid AWS experience, including EC2, EKS, RDS (MariaDB/PostgreSQL), S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, STS, and Networking.
Experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS) in production is required.
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) is necessary.
A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is mandatory.
Professional English proficiency, both written and spoken, is essential.
Proven experience in automated infrastructure and DevOps practices is required.
Candidates should be able to support high-stakes systems where uptime, speed, and security are critical.
The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly is expected.
Benefits:
The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a team of highly motivated developers.
Employees enjoy a flat hierarchy and a streamlined process that encourages collaboration and quick feedback loops.
The role allows for significant autonomy and ownership over projects.
The team operates with a rapid release schedule, often deploying multiple times per day, providing immediate visibility of individual contributions to the business.
There is a focus on continuous learning and the ability to experiment with new trends and frameworks.
