Description:

  • The position is for a DevOps Engineering Lead at a Series C startup, which is fully remote.
  • The ideal candidate is a technical leader with expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • The candidate should excel in architectural decision-making, actively contribute to the codebase, and drive technical excellence.
  • A problem-solving approach is essential, with a focus on impactful solutions and leveraging AI for innovation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mentoring and clear communication of technical solutions are key responsibilities.
  • The candidate should be passionate about secure, scalable systems and have a strong grasp of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and compliance (GDPR, SOC2).
  • Previous experience in startup environments is preferred, with an understanding of the nuances involved.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have around 7 years of software development experience, with 2+ years in a team lead or leadership role preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in React, TypeScript, API design, and data modeling (both relational and noSQL) is required.
  • Experience leading teams in high-performing, cross-functional environments is necessary, with a preference for in-house vs. overseas experience.
  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills are essential.
  • Candidates should have experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing frameworks is required.
  • Proficiency in AI-assisted development is necessary.
  • Candidates should be skilled at defining and tracking engineering metrics.
  • A hands-on keyboard type who can own the codebase is preferred.
  • Bonus points for experience using infrastructure-as-code tools, leading an engineering team in a high-growth startup, hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools, experience with pair programming and collaborative development techniques, and active contributions to open-source projects or developer communities.
  • Candidates must be based in specific locations across the US, including states like California, Texas, New York, and others.
