Description:

  • Seeking a talented and experienced engineer with a balance of DevOps and Full-Stack application development.
  • Work closely with fellow engineers and technical leaders to identify and execute opportunities to improve existing DevOps practices.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a range of AI-powered e-learning products and features.
  • Remote opportunity to work for a US-based company.
  • Implement and improve effective monitoring and alerting systems to maximize visibility into services and user experiences.
  • Help establish best practices around error handling, logging, and triaging in production environments.
  • Manage staging and production infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and fellow engineers to turn ideas for new features into minimum-viable-products.
  • Write efficient and maintainable backend services using Node.js and Typescript.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps and web development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a DevOps-focused engineering role, preferably using tools such as AWS, Terraform, Docker, Github Actions, and Datadog.
  • 2-3 years of experience in full-stack or backend web development, with a strong focus on Node.js and Typescript.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental system design principles enabling robust, scalable, distributed applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Experience with React or a similar framework is preferred.
  • Significant experience managing infrastructure with AWS, Terraform, and Docker.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Datadog.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Passion for writing clean, well-organized, and maintainable code.
  • Ability to systematically evaluate an engineering team’s DevOps practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Technical leadership experience, especially in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with LLM APIs such as ChatGPT or Claude, including prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with building applications with MongoDB using Mongoose and Prisma.
  • Familiarity with implementing highly responsive user interface components using modern React best practices.
