Description:
The DevOps Lead will build and deploy code for Smile Digital Health and associated services.
The role involves developing build scripts and infrastructure as code for various teams.
The candidate will maintain build and deployment pipelines to ensure quality delivery of software and infrastructure.
Collaboration with development, security operations, and engineering teams to deliver products is essential.
The DevOps Lead will foster a DevOps culture and champion an Everything as Code approach.
Investigating and resolving customer integration issues during implementation is a key responsibility.
The candidate will document best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
Establishing technical relationships with development teams is required.
The role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure templates and deployment pipelines.
Ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools infrastructure to improve system health and reliability is expected.
The candidate must maintain thorough documentation on the development pipeline.
Assisting developers and engineers with deployments and builds as needed is part of the job.
The DevOps Lead is accountable for ensuring accurate reporting of working hours in Netsuite, tracking billable hours, and utilizing the project management tool effectively.
Compliance with privacy, security, and confidentiality policies is mandatory.
Requirements:
At least five years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role or similar software engineering role is preferred.
Proficiency in Python is essential, along with good knowledge of Java applications.
Experience with Gitlab CI/CD and Jenkins is important.
Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, or Chef, as well as Java, Golang, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure ARM Templates, would be beneficial.
The candidate must be able to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel.
A highly responsive attitude and a customer-first mindset are required.
Knowledge of cloud service providers and best practices around implementation and configuration is nice to have but not required.
Familiarity with operating and maintaining production systems in Linux and public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI is an asset but not required.
An understanding of Kubernetes or other Docker orchestration tools is nice to have but not required.
