Description:

  • The DevOps Lead will build and deploy code for Smile Digital Health and associated services.
  • The role involves developing build scripts and infrastructure as code for various teams.
  • The candidate will maintain build and deployment pipelines to ensure quality delivery of software and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with development, security operations, and engineering teams to deliver products is essential.
  • The DevOps Lead will foster a DevOps culture and champion an Everything as Code approach.
  • Investigating and resolving customer integration issues during implementation is a key responsibility.
  • The candidate will document best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establishing technical relationships with development teams is required.
  • The role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure templates and deployment pipelines.
  • Ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools infrastructure to improve system health and reliability is expected.
  • The candidate must maintain thorough documentation on the development pipeline.
  • Assisting developers and engineers with deployments and builds as needed is part of the job.
  • The DevOps Lead is accountable for ensuring accurate reporting of working hours in Netsuite, tracking billable hours, and utilizing the project management tool effectively.
  • Compliance with privacy, security, and confidentiality policies is mandatory.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role or similar software engineering role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python is essential, along with good knowledge of Java applications.
  • Experience with Gitlab CI/CD and Jenkins is important.
  • Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, or Chef, as well as Java, Golang, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure ARM Templates, would be beneficial.
  • The candidate must be able to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel.
  • A highly responsive attitude and a customer-first mindset are required.
  • Knowledge of cloud service providers and best practices around implementation and configuration is nice to have but not required.
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining production systems in Linux and public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI is an asset but not required.
  • An understanding of Kubernetes or other Docker orchestration tools is nice to have but not required.
