Description:

HSI is seeking a talented DevOps and Security Engineer II to enhance customers' digital experiences.
The role involves deploying, managing, and maintaining systems for HSI’s proprietary, customer-facing SaaS applications.
The engineer will develop deep product knowledge, including technical system capabilities, infrastructure details, and security processes.
This position operates out of Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Key responsibilities include ensuring infrastructure health and security, maintaining application reliability, providing technical support and collaboration, advanced system design and development, and mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Essential functions involve debugging and triage, security management, and DevOps and automation.
Level II responsibilities include operating with greater independence, driving strategic improvements, providing mentorship, and collaborating on infrastructure design and security enhancements.
The DevOps Team is accountable for five core domains: Infrastructure Health, Infrastructure Security, Application Security, Application Reliability, and DevOps Efficacy.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, or Software Engineering.
Proven expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is required, with experience in building, managing, and optimizing cloud environments.
Strong command of Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly with Terraform, is essential.
Proficiency in Python (with PowerShell or other scripting languages as a plus) for automation and tooling is necessary.
A solid understanding of source control systems (e.g., Git) and modern software development workflows is required.
Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL or MySQL, is needed.
Knowledge of API integrations and service-oriented architecture is important.
Familiarity with system and information security best practices, including incident response and vulnerability remediation, is required.
Working knowledge of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks is necessary.
Candidates must be comfortable working across both Windows and Linux environments.
Excellent collaboration skills in distributed, cross-functional teams are essential.
Candidates must be located in the Eastern Time Zone or willing to work EST hours.

The base salary range for this position is $95K-110K USD, depending on geographic location and level of experience.
