Description:

  • AnswerRocket is seeking a DevOps/SRE Engineer to enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of their cloud environments.
  • The role involves collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams.
  • Key responsibilities include designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Docker.
  • The engineer will implement and manage monitoring systems like Prometheus and Cloudwatch, define SLIs and SLOs, and create a robust incident response plan.
  • The position requires building automation tools for system health monitoring, scaling, and performance optimization using Rundeck, Jenkins, and other frameworks.
  • The engineer will design, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable application delivery.
  • Ensuring infrastructure compliance with security standards and assisting with audits and security reviews is also a key responsibility.
  • The role includes providing operational support for production environments, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions for system reliability and scalability.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, ideally within a cloud-native environment, with a preference for AWS.
  • A deep understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS and Azure, is required.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation is necessary.
  • Proficiency in automation tools like Rundeck, Jenkins, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) is essential.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging systems (ELK, Splunk, etc.) is required.
  • Candidates should have experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • An understanding of best practices around security, compliance, and audits is necessary.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution and process optimization are required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database management and monitoring is beneficial.
  • Experience with cost optimization in cloud environments is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
