Remote DevSecOps Engineer - Contract

Description:

• The DevSecOps Engineer will help standardize and enhance DevOps and security practices.
• This role is crucial for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of client applications and infrastructure.
• The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust security measures.
• Responsibilities include provisioning and configuring AWS resources using Infrastructure as Code.
• The engineer will design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• They will identify and analyze workloads, defining and documenting their threat models.
• Regular assessments and patching of vulnerabilities in operating systems, application dependencies, and third-party solutions are required.
• The role involves developing automated solutions for vulnerability detection and patch deployment.
• Enhancing logging and metrics instrumentation across applications and infrastructure is part of the job.
• The engineer will create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
• Advocacy for and implementation of continuous improvements in infrastructure and security practices and processes is expected.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, with a preference for CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in Git for version control is required.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools and deployment automation is necessary.
• Experience in virtualizing or containerizing applications, such as creating AMIs or Docker images, is essential.
• Production experience with AWS resources and their best practices is required.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash or Python, for automating operations is necessary.
