Description:

Veeva Systems is seeking a Digital Web Developer for the Marketing Digital team, primarily responsible for backend development for Veeva's websites.
The role requires expertise in PHP and WordPress development.
The developer will collaborate with front-end developers to build functional features and integrations, ensuring site architecture and performance.
Responsibilities include developing custom site features, creating enterprise-level WordPress plugins and themes, and building integrations with internal and external systems via APIs.
The developer will guide technical direction, apply security best practices, debug across various browsers and devices, and implement best practices in WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript.
The role emphasizes documentation, knowledge sharing, and crafting high-quality, maintainable code.
Monitoring the performance of the live website is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

Candidates must have advanced PHP expertise and prior professional experience using it.
Experience in WordPress engineering, including PHP, React.js, and Gutenberg block development, is required.
Skills in debugging performance and caching issues across various environments are necessary.
Experience in designing scalable and maintainable site architectures is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable using a Unix command line and have experience building localized websites.
Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-developers are required.
Candidates should value autonomy and possess self-management skills for a fully remote role.
Experience in designing and maintaining systems for site updates with thorough testing and quality assurance is needed.
Proficiency with Git and version control is required, along with experience interacting with RESTful APIs and data formats like JSON and XML.
A minimum of five years of experience developing WordPress websites is mandatory.
