Description:

  • Work remotely to optimize Ubuntu for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance the Ubuntu experience on their platforms
  • Provide technical input on plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics for partner platforms
  • Lead complex customer engagements involving system architectures from cloud to edge
  • Assist customers in integrating apps, SDKs, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
  • Engage with cutting-edge operating systems and application technologies in the enterprise world
  • Collaborate with global teams and work on exciting IoT and server platforms supporting various industries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field
  • Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto)
  • Familiarity with open source communities and licenses
  • Proficiency in C and C++
  • Ability to work in a globally distributed team with self-discipline and motivation
  • Additional skills in graphics stacks, networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST), security best practices, communication, IoT/embedded systems, and Docker/OCI containers/K8s
