Description:

Work on mission-critical Golang code, focusing on software delivery, containers, security sandboxing, telemetry, and device management as a software engineer on the SnapD team.
Contribute to the development of Snaps, which are next-generation software packaging and delivery systems for Linux, designed for safety, security, and robustness.
Ensure that snaps work across multiple Linux flavors to provide publishers with the simplest way to reach the entire Linux ecosystem.
Collaborate proactively with a distributed team to write high-quality code for new features and debug issues.
Review code produced by other engineers and discuss ideas to find effective solutions.
Focus on achieving robustness in the software despite unexpected events like power outages.
Work from home with the possibility of global travel for up to two weeks, twice a year.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field is required.
Professional software development experience using Go, Python, C, or C++ is necessary.
General knowledge and experience with Linux system-level fundamentals, such as cgroups, namespaces, and apparmor, is required.
A commitment to software testing, code reviews, and maintainable code is essential.
Candidates should be passionate about open-source software development and value collaboration, peer reviews, and good unit/integration testing.
