Description:
- Join the Catalog team at Zapier as a Backend Engineer to assist in building internal automation services for exceptional products.
- The role involves enabling dynamic pricing, packaging, and billing for new products.
- Develop a scalable workflow subscription system and integrate add-ons strategically into the existing infrastructure.
- Take ownership of enhancing the catalog platform to define customer offerings like Add-ons and Plans.
- Establish a central source of truth for all customer purchases and deliver a cohesive multi-product purchasing experience.
Requirements:
- Possess over 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on building distributed, scalable web applications.
- Proficient in backend development using Python, Django, AWS, and other cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with event-based technologies like Kafka or SQS and database performance optimization with MySQL or Postgres.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and tools like Jira for project workflows.
- Strong communication skills, collaborative spirit, and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Comfortable working in diverse codebases, balancing multiple services efficiently.
- Advocate for user needs, value continuous learning, and research new technologies.
- Bonus points for experience with subscription management platforms like Stripe Billing, Chargebee, Zuora, and Recurly.
