Description:
The backend engineer will join Team Runner to build and maintain the core execution platform that drives Zaps, empowering automation heroes to run mission-critical processes reliably and consistently.
The role involves developing a robust and trusted workflow platform with exciting projects to enhance scalability and reliability of the Workflow Runner system.
The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders, embed in other teams' codebases, and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure a trusted experience with reliable Zap runs.
Responsibilities include participating in architecture design reviews, working with product, data, and infrastructure teams, providing feedback on tools and processes, and mentoring colleagues.
The engineer will have autonomy in code and feature ownership, ship to hundreds of thousands of users daily, and specialize in various areas of the Zapier codebase.
Requirements:
5+ years of software development experience in Python, with at least 3 years focused on building large distributed systems.
Experience in developing large-scale execution platforms, creating infrastructure as code, and managing distributed systems with queues and event-based architecture.
Strong expertise with AWS services, cloud computing technologies, and distributed databases.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, collaboration, and communication abilities.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, such as using tools like GitLab.
