Description:

The Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR) system is utilized by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to measure the quality of care provided by hospitals.
As an Engineer II, you will influence projects and products, demonstrating proficiency in software engineering technologies.
You will scope, estimate, design, and deliver medium-to-large features while reducing technical debt.
Responsibilities include leveraging test-driven development for backend systems and user interfaces, contributing to API and data model development, and designing user interfaces based on UX designs.
You will also maintain data interactions, optimize data operations for performance and scalability, and ensure data integrity and security.
Understanding and contributing to automated testing suites is also part of the role.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in full stack development is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with application development using Python, Go, Javascript (Angular), and SQL is necessary.
Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, S3), is required.
Knowledge of testing tools such as Cypress and Postman is important.
Understanding of security practices using AWS Security Hub, Snyk, and Dependabot is needed.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, and Feature Flags is essential.
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic and Cloudwatch is beneficial.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Zoom, and Slack is expected.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens or have documented proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. and have lived in the U.S. for at least the past 3 years.
Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation and must meet the requirements to hold a position of Public Trust.
