Remote Engineer Network Tools and Automation Engineering (Infrastructure)

Description:

• The Network Tools and Automation Engineer will play a critical role in the planning, design, and execution of network automation platforms and tools in support of the network transformation strategy.
• This role provides expert technical direction in automation efforts for the network Infrastructure organization.
• The engineer will be responsible for producing and implementing automation framework and network tools strategy, as well as developing processes and enablement/training within the Internal network services organization.
• The position aims to amplify network capabilities by enabling analytics and automation to drive operational efficiencies in the environment.
• The role will focus on network-wide performance and capacity projects and will require cross-functional collaboration with several teams to ensure optimal operation and growth of the network infrastructure.
• The engineer will partner closely with network product and platform owners, including MSPs and other suppliers, translating business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements to improve network availability, reliability, and performance.
• Responsibilities include assisting with the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of network automation and tools platforms, as well as troubleshooting efforts.
• The engineer will be directly accountable for the results of these critical network platforms.

Requirements:

• Previous experience with the design and deployment of large-scale network automation solutions is required.
• Must have experience with the automation of network devices (routers, switches, protocol mediation devices) using Ansible, Python, and other automation scripting tools.
• Familiarity with automation platforms and frameworks is necessary.
• Experience with the design and implementation of industry-leading monitoring tools and technology is required.
• Strong knowledge in fault monitoring, capacity management, configuration management, and performance management is essential.
• The ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions is necessary.
• A record of strong project management and time management skills is required.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture best practices and experience designing with and integrating cloud-based services into production is essential.
• Key skills include project management, communication, coding languages, network development, network architecture, cloud-based services, and agile development.
• Demonstrated ability to develop infrastructure lifecycle management strategies to manage performance, capacity, availability, reliability, and new service introduction of network infrastructure services is required.
• Proven ability to partner with infrastructure, security, application, and business leaders to provide technology solutions that respond to rapid changes in the business and ensure exceptional end-user experience is necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience supporting computer networks in a mission-critical environment is necessary.
• At least 3 years of experience with supporting network automation tools is required.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading is essential.
• Certification and/or training with vendor-neutral or vendor-specific focus is preferred.
