Description:

  • Culture Amp is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead for their Data Platform Team in Melbourne.
  • The role involves overseeing the internal data platform that integrates data from various products and external sources.
  • The Team Lead will empower analysts and data scientists to unlock powerful insights, contributing to Culture Amp's mission of enhancing employee engagement.
  • Key responsibilities include leading the design of the data platform, which encompasses the data lake, warehouse, data modeling, orchestration, and ML platform.
  • The Team Lead will mentor and develop engineers, fostering their growth into future technical leaders.
  • The position emphasizes people leadership, technical leadership, and ensuring timely project delivery within Agile, cross-functional, and remote-friendly teams.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a strong understanding of data engineering and data platform architecture, including data lake and data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and security and compliance considerations.
  • Experience with the AWS data stack, specifically Redshift, MSK, and Glue, is required.
  • Knowledge of key data stack components such as dbt and Airflow is essential.
  • Applicants should have experience managing stakeholders and leading engineers, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ideal candidate is a technical leader who balances hands-on technical skills with the ability to empower and coach engineers.
  • Openness to receiving and giving feedback to facilitate growth is also necessary.
