Description:
The position is for a fully remote, contract-to-hire Senior/Lead Java Engineer role.
The engineer will play a pivotal role in driving IT transformation and modernization for a large enterprise industry leader.
Candidates must have hands-on technical expertise in Java and related technologies.
The role requires the ability to produce high-quality code and proficiency across different stages of the software development life cycle.
The compensation ranges from $60-$75/hr for Senior positions and $70-$85/hr for Lead positions.
Candidates must reside within the continental US while working and be exclusively dedicated to this role during standard Eastern Time business hours.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of recent Java development experience in a large enterprise environment with up-to-date hands-on coding experience.
Experience with Microservices architecture using tools like Spring Boot and REST APIs is required.
Proficiency in version control with GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD tools like Jenkins is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud services, preferably GCP, is essential.
Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL databases is required.
Candidates must have the ability to optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex system issues are necessary.
Clear communication of technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is required.
Candidates should have strategic foresight in technology trends and future needs.
Experience in analyzing and reengineering existing systems for efficiency is necessary.
Comfort with agile methodologies and adaptation to evolving requirements is required.
For the Lead role, candidates must have proven experience contributing to the architecture of significant IT projects and guiding technical teams, as well as experience in code reviews and mentoring other engineers.
