Description:

The Plaid Machine Learning Infrastructure (ML Infra) team is responsible for creating and maintaining foundational systems, tools, and processes for efficient, scalable, reliable, responsible, and secure machine learning workflows.
The core responsibilities include developing a robust Feature Store platform for batch and real-time streaming features, maintaining infrastructure for model serving and deployment, supporting data exploration and experimentation, and developing frameworks to monitor and track ML data costs.
The role involves leading the machine learning Infra team to design and develop the Feature Store Platform for Plaid and setting the multi-year technical strategy and roadmap.
The position requires maintaining the current infrastructure for ML developer environments, model training, feature creation/serving, model hosting/serving, model management, service monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
The candidate will also help pioneer the early foundation of the LLM AI platform for Plaid, collaborating with MLEs, product engineers, and Data Platform engineers to enhance the overall Plaid data ecosystem.
The role demands a passion for ML infrastructure and its application in solving real-world problems, particularly in the fintech sector, along with providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of software engineering experience.
Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering with a proven track record of successful projects in the ML Infrastructure or Platform domain at similar or larger companies is required.
A deep understanding of high-quality ML Infrastructure systems, including Feature Stores, Training Infrastructure, Serving Infrastructure, and Model Monitoring is essential.
Experience in developing Feature Store systems is necessary.
Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project management skills are required, with a proven ability to coordinate effectively.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers, are important.
Experience with AWS Sagemaker, Tecton, or LLM training/serving infrastructure/platform is a nice-to-have.

The target base salary for this role ranges from $182,520 to $297,000 per year.
Additional compensation may include equity and/or commission, depending on the position offered.
